The objective of this research is to To find out correlation of using words category method and students’ achievement in learning vocabulary. To increase their vocabulary and also as the additional insight. The study investigates the effect of of using words category method to students’ achievement in learning vocabulary, the data were obtained from SMP Muhammadiyah 44. Jxxxxxxxxxx , and the sample is two parallel of second level class that consist of 40 students in 2A and 40 students in 2B, In collecting data of research used test, there is essay test consisted of 20 items. The test was was two kind of the test paper one is for the first type that was looking for the meaning of the words that put based on the word category, and the second was for the second type is looking for the meaning of the words that put not based on the word category or randomly. The finding shows that the teaching the second level of SMP Muhammadiyah 44. Jalan Mesjid Taqwa xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx  is better thought by using words category method than thought without using words category method
